Schönbrunn Palace Competition
Veech X Veech developed a design proposal for the 1300sqm main foyer to the Schönbrunn Palace museum complex.
Applying Baroque principles of spatial dramaturgy perception (distortion, spatial extension and compression), the design focussed upon inserting a double curved triangulated steel & glass structure creating stunning views to the sky above.
The elegant skeleton structural steel roof construction provides a soft transition between the interior and exterior. The perimeter spine provides ample space to incorporate the functional program requirements of the briefing. Embedded video screens and projections enhance the overall atmospheric qualities and provide surfaces for content presentation.
